‘We currently don’t have a single world-class player’ — Toni Kroos | Bavarian Football Works Skip to main content A Bayern Munich CommunityBavarian Football WorksJuly 2, 2026Bavarian Football Works The Feed Toni Kroos crushed the German national team roster for its lack of quality. If you know anything about former German national team star Toni Kroos, it is that he will just about always say what is on his mind and will almost never hold back. When discussing the German national team on his podcast (Kroos & Kroos: die WM unter der Lupe), Kroos came out with both barrels blazing. “We currently don’t have a single world-class player. We have players with world-class potential, but that doesn’t mean they are world-class. The world-class players are currently deciding all the World Cup matches — and they are leading the top goalscorers’ list. We don’t have a single one there, we have to be honest about that. Back when we had successful tournaments, I always had the feeling we could shift into a higher gear. This team is currently no longer capable of that. We just think we’re better than Paraguay – and we’ll win somehow,” Kroos said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
