The man, aged in his 30s, was found with serious injuries, but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency services, police said. A 36 year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Police said they received reports of a 'male having been seriously assaulted… inside Olivers Bar, Bow Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne'. The venue is understood to be operating under a different name. Greater Manchester Police said officers attended at around 2.40am on Saturday (July 11). "Officers… immediately started to provide first aid to the male victim who then became unresponsive and stopped breathing," the force's Major Incident Portal reads.
