Giants linebacker Brian Burns has tallied seven sacks already this season. Al Bello / Getty Images Giants outside linebacker Brian Burns is widely viewed as one of the best pass rushers in the league, with a pair of Pro Bowl selections during his first six seasons. He’s also reached the pinnacle financially, signing a five-year, $141 million contract with the Giants after being acquired in a trade last offseason. Burns is having the best season of his career, tied for the NFL lead with seven sacks. He easily could be content with all he’s accomplished. Burns reached his breaking point earlier this week, calling a players-only meeting among the Giants’ defensive players. Burns’ intention was to bring the defense together and play for each other.
