Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level review meeting on the country’s exports, underscoring that increasing exports is essential for Pakistan’s economic development and long-term stability. During the meeting, the prime minister said that boosting exports remains a top priority of the government. He assured participants that all possible facilities would be provided to industry and the trading community to support export-led growth. Prime Minister Sharif stressed that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) must be promoted on a priority basis. He noted that strengthening SMEs would not only expand Pakistan’s export base but also create new employment opportunities across the country. To better understand ground realities, the prime minister directed federal ministers to personally visit major industrial and commercial cities. He instructed them to meet exporters directly, listen to their concerns, and ensure faster resolution of issues faced by the business community. He also emphasized the need to further improve coordination with the provinces, particularly for the promotion of cold chain infrastructure and other sectors linked to industry and trade.
