The actress landed the coveted role of Maxima in James Gunn‘s “Superman” sequel, “Man of Tomorrow.” Fans had previously expressed that Arjona would make a great Wonder Woman — and the DC Studios co-chief agreed — but it turns out that this part was perfect for the “Andor” star. Last week, Variety reported that Arjona tested for the key role — Maxima is an alien queen who has been both an antagonist and a potential love interest for Superman in the comics — alongside finalists Eva De Dominici (“The Cleaning Lady”), Sydney Chandler (“Alien: Earth”) and Grace Van Patten (“Tell Me Lies”).
