In December 2025, Finnley suddenly became critically ill and was rushed to hospital in the US, where he spent five days in ICU after suffering an adrenal crisis – a life-threatening complication of Addison’s disease, a rare condition that often goes undiagnosed. During a crisis, they require an emergency injection – but unlike other conditions, there is no simple, ready-to-use pen. “The injection has to be made up and given via a normal needle – during a crisis, this is just unrealistic,” Stacey, who owns Velocity Dance in Woolston, explained.
