Lady Annabel Goldsmith, who has died aged 91, was a Society figure and hostess held in affection for her warm-heartedness, vivacity and sense of fun; the daughter of a marquess and the widow of business tycoon Sir James Goldsmith, her name is immortalised in Annabel’s, the London nightclub in Berkeley Square, which was named for her by her first husband, Mark Birley.
