BULAWAYO: A collective bowling effort, followed by captain Thomas Rew's unbeaten half-century, led England to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the third Super Sixes match of the ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2026 here at the Queens Sports Club on Monday. Bangladesh captain Azizul Hakim's decision to bat first backfired as the team's batting unit folded for a meagre 136 in 38.1 overs. The Tigers got off to a dismal start to their innings as they lost opener Zawad Abrar (six) in the first over with just seven runs on the board. Following the early setback, skipper Hakim joined Rifat Beg in the middle, and the duo batted cautiously to add 46 runs for the second wicket until Farhan Ahmed got the opener caught behind on the first delivery of the 12th over. Beg remained the top-scorer for Bangladesh with a 36-ball 31, featuring four boundaries. Hakim, on the other hand, was then involved in an 18-run partnership for the third wicket with Kalam Siddiki (10) before both perished in the 19th over, bringing the total down to 72/4.
