Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22 in London — a break from its usual Seoul or US venues. The teaser, titled ‘A New Shape Unfolds,’ shows an event ticket that transforms into a box revealing the four-star Galaxy AI logo, with the ticket’s shape hinting at a shorter, wider redesign for the Z Fold series. The headline story is a foldable line-up split into three devices for the first time. Leaks describe Samsung dividing its book-style foldable into two separate phones: a wider, more square Galaxy Z Fold8 aimed at the same landscape-first format Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone is expected to adopt, and a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra that retains the tall, narrow shape familiar from the Fold 7. A Bluetooth SIG database listing tied to the model number SM-F976 has reportedly reinforced this naming split. The Ultra is tipped to be the more heavily specified of the two, carrying a 5,000mAh battery (up from the Fold 7’s 4,400mAh), 45W wired and 15W wireless charging, up to 16GB of RAM, storage up to 1TB, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip also expected in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
