Sir Richard Branson has shared a heartbreaking update weeks after the death of his wife Joan, who died last month aged 80. The Virgin founder, 75, posted a tribute on Instagram on Monday, alongside two photographs of the couple together, thanking friends, supporters and well-wishers for their messages of comfort. In the statement, Sir Richard said that his family now “just want to celebrate Joan and the wonderful life she lived”, adding that he felt “so fortunate” to have shared his life with her. The British entrepreneur and Joan were married for 36 years, and he has previously spoken of the central role she played in his personal life and in supporting his business empire over the decades.
