As Indian households felt the Iran war-induced disruption in LPG supply, it triggered a surge in demand for induction cooktops. The surge raised an important question: Can India manufacture these appliances at scale? Nothing is, of course, impossible. And history shows there are enough examples of whole manufacturing chains moving to India. But it might be different in the case of induction cooktops. The reason may seem to be minor, but it clearly shows that when it comes to energy security, there are many little things that need to be looked at.
