An eye-witness told the M.E.N. there were 'loads' of police and ambulances in the vicinity of Market Street and Wellington Road in Bury, with an air ambulance landing on the nearby race track. GMP confirmed that they attended the scene after a car collided with a cyclist, who was taken to hospital. A 17-year-old boy was subsequently arrested. They said in a statement: "An 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop following a road traffic collision on Wellington Road in Bury this afternoon (Thursday 29 January 2026). He is in police custody.
