The warning, which was sent to phones this afternoon (Saturday October 11) read: "Heavy rain alert. Avoid travel and outdoor activities. Stay away from torrents, streams, or floodplains, and avoid-low areas and basements. If water enters, go to upper floors." Yesterday, the Foreign Office issued new travel advice for anyone travelling to parts of Spain in the coming days. The new alert comes as Spain is hit by Storm Alice, leading to several weather warnings and some red warnings. Advice shared by the Foreign Office says: "Severe weather warnings are in place today in Murcia and Valencia, including the province of Alicante. "Disruptions to travel are likely. If you are in the affected areas, follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local weather updates. If you are planning to travel, check for messaging from your travel provider or airline."
