Emily Casey, 34, was put into a coma after feeling ill on holiday in the Canary Islands with her husband Jamie Casey and their five children. On Wednesday, May 13, just three days after the family, from Wirral, flew to the island, Emily started struggling to breathe and was rushed straight to a nearby hospital. She'd recently recovered from pneumonia so doctors initially suspected she had a blood clot in her lung. A CT scan was done and the mum was told the pneumonia had returned. Doctors said one of her lungs was "full of fluid," which would need to be drained.
